Kate began practicing yoga at age 17 and shortly thereafter settled into regular classes at Harmony Yoga in Spokane. She continued practicing in college throughout the West Coast, taking classes rooted in Iyengar, Anusara, Ashtanga, and Vinyasa traditions. After over 10 years of experience as a practitioner, Kate wanted to share her love of yoga with others. She completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training at Harmony Yoga in 2014, and has completed additional Vinyasa teacher training at the Union.
Kate has an extensive background in physical movement. She began dancing at age four and continues to dance and teach around the Spokane area. As a method of conditioning for dance, Kate found a combination of Pilates and yoga helped her to rehabilitate and prevent injury. She completed her Pilates mat, reformer, and barre teacher training to work with dancers and share the methods that worked for her. Alignment and muscle control are the pillars of any physical activity. Kate’s objectives are to help students of all ages and physical capability find their best alignment and maintain that with stabilizing and functional muscle work.
